I am trained in EMDR and employ various techniques from DBT, CBT, inner child work, expressive arts therapy, and exposure therapy.
What is EMDR? EMDR uses guided eye movements to help individuals process traumatic memories and reduce their psychological impact.
What is DBT? DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is a cognitive-behavioral treatment focusing on emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, distress tolerance, and mindfulness, especially for borderline personality disorder and self-harm.
What is CBT? CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is a structured, brief therapy that modifies unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, enhancing emotional regulation and coping strategies.
What is Inner Child Work? Inner child work heals childhood wounds by nurturing the inner child, addressing unresolved issues, and promoting emotional healing and personal growth.
What is Expressive Arts? Expressive arts therapy uses creative arts like drawing, painting, music, poetry and writing to foster self-expression and emotional exploration.
What is Exposure Therapy? Exposure therapy gradually confronts fears, reduces avoidance by facing feared situations, and builds tolerance.
How is EMDR used online? EMDR can successfully be employed through telehealth sessions, but may not be for everyone. Here are some online methods I have used with success.
Self-Tapping:
You use your own hands to gently tap on your shoulders or knees in an alternating pattern. This creates the bilateral stimulation needed for EMDR and can be surprisingly effective.Visual Tracking on Screen:
You follow a moving object—such as a ball or light—that moves back and forth across your screen. This mimics the eye movements used in in-person EMDR sessions.Remote EMDR Tappers:
These are small devices that plug into your computer and provide alternating vibrations in each hand. Your therapist can control them remotely during your session. (Note: These can be helpful but may be a more costly option.)
Initial Intake Session 1hr 10min
$125 only for initial intake session
A therapy intake session is the first meeting between a client and therapist to collect important details about the client's background, issues, and therapy goals. The therapist gathers and reviews this information before, during, and after the session.
Regular Individual Sessions 50min
$75/session
Sessions can be scheduled twice a week, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed. Regular sessions will focus on collaborating to achieve your treatment plan goals.
Accepted Payment Forms
Credit Cards – Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, and Discover.
Debit Cards – Bank-linked cards are accepted.
HSA Cards – Can be used for eligible therapy services.
FSA Cards – Accepted for qualifying mental health expenses.
Sliding Scale: Limited openings available
All payments are processed securely at the time of service.
Payment processing surcharge is (3.15% plus $0.30)
Rates are subject to change at any time. Appropriate notice will be provided.
Payment Forms Not Accepted
Cash – For safety and record-keeping purposes, cash payments are not accepted.
Checks – Personal or business checks are not accepted due to processing delays.
Insurance – We are a private pay practice and do not bill insurance directly.
Payment Apps (e.g., Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle) – These platforms are not HIPAA-compliant and are not used for client payments.
NOTICE: At Re-Story Counseling, I do not accept insurance at this time. I operate as a private pay practice, which means clients are responsible for the full session fee at the time of service.
While I understand that this may not be the right fit for everyone, this approach allows us to focus fully on your care — without restrictions placed by insurance companies.
If needed, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) which you may submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance company to learn more about their policies on out-of-network mental health services.
