What should I expect in my first session?

Your first individual session, called an intake session, is 50min (cost effective option) to 70min long. It’s a chance for me to get to know you, understand what brings you in, and explore your goals for therapy. We’ll also review your history and answer any questions you have about the process.

How long are therapy sessions and how often do we meet?

Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Group therapy is 80 minutes every other week. For individual sessions, most clients start with weekly appointments, but this can be adjusted to bi-weekly, or monthly based on your needs, finances and schedule.

What issues do you specialize in?

Re-Story Counseling works with adult clients navigating a variety of concerns, such as anxiety, grief, low self-worth, relationship challenges, life transitions, with a primary focus on trauma and PTSD. Therapy is tailored to your unique experience using a creative blend of techniques and interventions. Learn more on the services page.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes. All sessions are only offered via secure telehealth video through Simple Practice. You can attend from the comfort and privacy of your home. A strong internet connection and a quiet, confidential space are needed and you must be physically present in Arizona.

What are your fees?

  • Intake Session (50-70 minutes): $75-$120

  • Ongoing Individual Sessions (50 minutes): $75

  • Group Sessions (80 minutes): $45

  • No-show or late individual cancellation fee: $75

  • No-show or late group cancellation fee: $45
    Note: Appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid this fee.

Do you accept insurance?

Re-Story Counseling is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. However, many clients use superbills to request out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider. We’re happy to provide these upon request.

We also provide sliding scale options if there is availability.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept:

  • Credit/Debit Cards

  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Payment is processed securely through Simple Practice at each session.

What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?

It’s completely normal to feel unsure. We can talk about what you’re looking for if you schedule a free 15 minute consult call. Therapy is also a collaborative space. You are always welcome to ask questions and express what works and does not work for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed entirely, will be charged the full session fee of $75.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is protected under HIPAA. Information shared in both group and individual therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions (e.g., safety concerns or court orders), which we’ll review together in your first session.

Re-Story counseling does not use AI note takers when providing therapy services.
