What should I expect in my first session?

Your first session, called an intake session, is 70 minutes long. It’s a chance for us to get to know you, understand what brings you in, and explore your goals for therapy. We’ll also review your history and answer any questions you have about the process.

How long are therapy sessions and how often do we meet?

Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients start with weekly appointments, but this can be adjusted based on your needs and schedule.

What issues do you specialize in?

Re-Story Counseling works with adult clients navigating a variety of concerns, such as anxiety grief, self-worth, relationship challenges, life transitions, and a primary focus on trauma and PTSD related challenges. Therapy is tailored to your unique experience using a creative blend of techniques we shape together.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes. All sessions are only offered via secure telehealth video. You can attend from the comfort and privacy of your home. A strong internet connection and a quiet, confidential space are needed and you must be physically present in Arizona.

What are your fees?

  • Intake Session (70 minutes): $120

  • Ongoing Individual Sessions (50 minutes): $75

  • No-show or late cancellation fee: $75
    Note: Appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid this fee.

Do you accept insurance?

Re-Story Counseling is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. However, many clients use superbills to request out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider. We’re happy to provide these upon request.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept:

  • Credit/Debit Cards

  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Payment is processed securely after each session.

What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?

It’s completely normal to feel unsure. We can talk about what you’re looking for and see if this feels like the right fit if you schedule a 15 minute consult call. Therapy is also a collaborative space—you won’t be pressured, and you’re always welcome to ask questions along the way.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice—or missed entirely—will be charged the full session fee of $75.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is protected under HIPAA. Information shared in therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions (e.g., safety concerns or court orders), which we’ll review together in your first session.
